Pre-Media
DOME’s prepress department has an average tenure of 10 years – each member with approximately 15 years of industry knowledge and prepress experience. Any questions on how best to create an effect or set up your file, you can talk directly with our IT manager. DOME is always informed on the most current applications.
Complete color-management from initial file review, through proof, to press, your color is consistent. Color is so crucial to the DOME Experience that we calibrate our prepress and proofing to our presses on a continual basis. We insist the color meets your expectations. Equipment
- Computer-to-plate thermal imaging device.
Thermal technology generates the sharpest dot possible to be reproduced on a printing plate.
- Epson 9880
The Epson 9880 incorporates new technology that produces color proofs with a color gamut that closely matches what the presses can achieve. PMS colors are simulated using a seven color printing technology.
- Canon and Hewlett Packard Ink Jet Proofers
Ink jet imaging on paper in either black and white or full color allows us to proof the content of the complete signature printed two sides, as it will be produced.
- Kodak InSite Server for FTP and Soft Proofing
We are equipped to receive files by way of the internet using InSite, a secure web based system that not only allows for file transfer but soft proofing. The proofing systems sports high resolution PDFs for your review with the capability to view the proof with your Dome representative or other members of your team at the same time. Notes can be made on the PDF and your corrected pages can be returned to InSite for additional proofing.
Certified G7 Master Printer
DOME adheres to this newest method in color calibration. Color calibration is imperative to achieving a closer visual match between proofs to press, press to press and printing the same way twice. GRACoL 7 developed standards for measuring color value versus ink density. The color value or gray balance is a much better predictor of visual appearance than evaluating the ink density of each color. Those printers who are qualified as a G7 Master are set to a world wide standard in proofing, viewing and printing. Set audits of press sheets are conducted by an independent agency to assure color accuracy and continued improvement.
