DOME has one of the cleanest pressrooms in the trade. When you walk out to the press one of the first things you notice is how clean the entire press room is. A place for everything and everything in its place. DOME pays careful attention to all the small details of our facility and it’s that same dedication to details we give each print project and customer.

The Stacatto line screening is a random dot that offers a distinct advantage to full color images. However, Stacatto may not be the answer to every project and your job may benefit from 175 or 200 conventional line screen. The attention to each job and the making of those decisions is why print buyers and companies throughout Northern California trust us with their printing projects.

The press operators are true pros on their equipment and make sure they are hitting the mark even before you arrive on scene for a press check. With closed-loop color on both sheetfed and web sides of the pressroom, your run is guaranteed the most accurate color consistency available.

If your project needs special colors we can create them in our in-house inkroom. Ink Systems is part of the DOME team and is available to meet a project’s special need.

Even before you round the corner to the bindery, the bindery comes to you right at press with the addition of in-line finishing on the 5-color web press. It’s pretty awesome to behold when it’s all set up with ribbons flowing. But that’s just the tip of the finishing work DOME can do to bring full-life into your designs and plans.

Getting a glimpse of the in-line finishing in action brings to mind a candy factory – with sweet printed product rather than chocolates at the end of it all.

• Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 105 (2)
  6-Color with AQ Coater, CPC, and Autoplate 41” presses prints at speeds up to 18,000 sheets per hour. It features a spectrophotometer scanning system that measures in colorimetric values rather than black and white densities, giving a true reading of ink on paper. Autoplate (automatic mounting of the printing plate on the press) has been the largest make-ready time saver, virtually cutting make-ready time in half. Auto registration, auto sheet size change over, auto wash-up, auto blanket washers and auto impression cylinder washers, make this press extremely efficient and productive.

  16-Page 6-Color Heat-set Web. Heidelberg Harris design features provide tangible improvements over other manufacturers in speed, reduced make-ready times, flexibility, and ink control. The press is fully-automated with auto blanket and roller washers. The folding system offers a wide variety of folding configurations. We utilize Quad Tec closed loop color technology to aid in tight color control. This 16-page full web (23” cutoff, 38” web width, single roll stand) is the perfect press for your direct mail, catalog, publication or any project demanding high-quantity printing.

• Heidelberg Harris M-110
  8-Page 5-Color Heat-set Web with in-line finishing The perfect compliment to our full web, this press 17.75” cutoff, 26.5” web width is equipped with in-line finishing. The in-line finishing offers glue, perforation and contour die-cutting. The finishing allows customers the ability to customize direct mail, envelopes, nested letters, glue spine booklets and bill inserts. This press will provide the speed and economies for large runs with the quality print that the Quad Tec color management system ensures.

• Web Press Color Controls
  Quad Tec Color Control System with Instrument Flight® Technology installed on the M-130 and M-110 for color consistency from press to press. This on-line video-based scanning system automatically searches for, locates and tracks micro colorbars to relate color density information, print contrast, trap and dot gain to our press operators. The CCS (Color Control System) automatically sends any necessary adjustments to the press ink control consoles. This allows us to achieve a higher color consistency, lower make-ready times, and a reduction of waste.

• Sakurai Spot UV Press
  We can apply a flood or spot application of high gloss UV (ultraviolet) coating to the press sheets up to 30” x 42”. Able to apply gloss, matte, raised and scratch-n-sniff UV coatings.

• Bobst Autoplaten Die-cutting Press
  30.75” x 42.5” Heavy duty, high-speed die-cutting of press sheets up to 24pt. board.

• Heidelberg Cylinder Press
  21.5” x 28” Light duty die-cutting press for sheet thicknesses up to 12pt. cover.
