From forest to pressroom, we understand that to be successful for the long term, we have to take responsible steps throughout all of production. We examine all aspects of the printing process to reduce waste and the environmental impact of our processes and products. Every decision we make has implications for the environment. As forests play a vital role in the absorption of carbon dioxide, at DOME we ensure that only paper from responsibly managed forests is utilized.

As important as using paper from certified sources is using paper with recycled content. At DOME our house stocks are at least 10% PCW, and we offer our clients up to 100% PCW. We maintain a substantial paper recycling program in which all excess paper is recycled. On press we use only vegetable oil based inks. Our sheetfed inks use the highest possible percentage of vegetable oil content. By contrast, the heat-set inks we use on our web presses can only be up to 10% vegetable oil content. However, over 99% of the VOCs generated are eliminated by the use of state of the art thermal oxidizers.

Lean manufacturing and the 5S Methodology, implemented by DOME and many of today’s forward-thinking manufacturers, has created company-wide processes and policies to further reduce waste and add customer value at all stages of print production. We recycle all possible materials in the plant and the office. DOME is driven by efficiency, which results in efforts to reduce waste in every aspect of production and distribution.
