Utilizing the horsepower of our web and sheet-fed presses and complementing with an extensive finishing and mailing facility, there is very little that does not fit within the scope of our capabilities.

However, we have become much more than just a printing company; Dome is your one source for everything from creative services, digital printing, fulfillment and integrated business solutions, including custom client storefront solutions.

Dome has over 40 years of commercial print solutions experience. We are respected by industry leaders and clients for our progressive approach to innovation. history of Dome

Byron Dome founded Dome Engraving in 1914 as an engraving company serving local printers and newspapers. Dome incorporated in 1969 under Ray Poole who changed the engraving company to an offset printing facility. Over the past four decades the business has become one of the largest privately held commercial printing companies in Northern California. In 2004, the Poole brothers Tim and Bob purchased the company from their father and continue to offer customers the best in service and quality.

Meet our Executive Staff

Tim Poole
CEO

Tim Poole is a second generation owner and entrepreneur. Through innovation and leadership vision, DOME continues to remain relevant in a changing print industry.

Tim is very active in industry associations, including holding high level executive board positions. In addition, he is involved with Vistage International, to exchange best practices with other local business CEO’s. He often enjoys the opportunity to speak on executive leadership, family business transition and technical forums related to the printing industry. Such involvement ensures DOME remains informed of critical industry changes and is positioned to create change where needed.

One of Tim’s greatest accomplishments is, at the age of 48, being honored as a 2007 inductee into the Printing Impressions/RIT Printing Industry Hall of Fame. It was the culmination of decades of hard work, continuous learning and a testament to the quality individuals who support him, his company and in this journey.

Tim and his wife live in the Sierra foothills on a small horse ranch, where they enjoy the peace and tranquility that gives them a get-away from the daily grind. Tim’s wife breeds Arabian horses and she rides dressage horses while Tim prefers a good game of golf on Saturday mornings, working around the ranch doing landscaping and anything with a tractor. Tim never passes up a good cigar, a trip to the ocean, or any opportunity to visit with friends and family over a glass of wine.

Bob Poole
CMO

Bob Poole was born into printing, with his earliest memories being of his Dad working long hours and holidays producing quality print. Those work ethics are what built his foundation and how he does business today — exceed the client’s needs in service and quality.

Bob began his career at DOME in the early 80’s as a high school student, taking a bus every afternoon from Elk Grove into downtown to earn extra money and learn the business. Bob would do any odd job including bindery and delivery, then moved into the pressroom running the cylinder and small presses. As part of the complete learning experience his Dad insisted he understand pre-press — from shooting camera art to stripping and making plates. After a number of years he became the pre-press manager, and this would give him the opportunity to be hands-on with one of the most important advancements in the printing industry – computer-to-plate technology.

Now, with extensive experience in all departments, it was time to step into sales. In 2000, Bob became involved in sales, which gave him a more direct understanding of the importance of exceeding the client’s needs.

On October 12th, 2004 the brothers took ownership of DOME. The foundation Ray Poole built and the years of hard work had created an outstanding company. The realization that DOME is in their hands to continue is both exciting and challenging. Bob continues his education by being involved with industry organizations, as President of the North Sacramento Chamber where, in 2007, he received the Business Person of the Year Award for outstanding community service and through listening to the needs of his family of employees and DOME’s valued clients.

Misha Pavlov
President

Misha Pavlov has been a leader in the industry for 14 years, with experience in small format digital, grand format digital, web gravure, web offset, sheetfed, inkjet, and screen print. He’s led operations in security printing, photo products, fulfillment, publishing, direct mail, packaging, HIPAA, variable data, and of course, commercial print. Misha has done this throughout the world; navigating multi-national customers through the international jungle of language, culture, tax, customs, currency, and regulations.

Misha leads the team with a major focus on continuous improvement, utilizing a combination of 5S, Lean, Six Sigma, and most importantly common sense. His passion is improving everything all the time; from the customer experience to the employee experience.
In the rare moments when Misha is not working, he enjoys golf, friends, and his family. One of the Pavlov’s favorite things to do is travel the globe, and with children that started their international travels within the first weeks of life, they all know how to do it right.

Sherwin Poorsina
Executive Vice President of Sales and Technology

Sherwin is a top producer and seasoned veteran with more than 20 years of graphic communications experience in the areas of operations, sales, sales management, M&A, and technology. He has served as President and Executive Vice President for several larger public and privately owned operations. His strongest trait is his ability to drive business and increase revenue. An expert in all areas of traditional print, his current focus is the motivation of the Account Executive team and leading the American Web Technology Team in creating DOME’s cutting edge custom E-Commerce Solutions.

Sherwin keeps busy on his “off hours” spending time with his 3 young children, his wife Sai Jai (an Account Executive at DOME) and whenever possible, he squeezes in a game of golf.
